Founded in 2012, Habgito Nigeria Limited, is the sole marketer and distributor of the Habgito Power Tillers in Nigeria. Since our start we have supplied over 3,500 Habgito tillers to farmers and agricultural associations across Nigeria.
Our Tillers are currently in circulation in 31 out of the 36 states in Nigeria. These states are Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Edo, Kogi, Kwara, Rivers, Bayelsa, Zamfara, Sokoto, Abia, Kano, Anambra, Imo, Cross River, Plateau, Benue, Katsina, Delta, Enugu, Kaduna, Bayelsa, Edo, Ebonyi, Taraba, Benue, Ogun, Niger, Oyo, Adamawa, Lagos and Yobe.
In the States mentioned above, our tillers can be found mainly in rural areas where there are small holder farmers. For example, farmers in Wushishi, Niger State; Nshi Ibori, Mfuma, Ibil, Bansara, Ukele all in Cross River State; Omor, Umumbo, Igbaukwu in Anambra State; Gwer East, Naka, Jato-Aka in Benue State; Tsong, Gurin, Jada, Demsa, Madagali, Michika, Ganye, Fofure in Adamawa State etc. This has allowed us to have both direct and indirect contact with over 18,000 farmers spread across Nigeria.
Dur to our extensive reach and knowledge of the rural agrarian communities across all parts of Nigeria, we have partnered with local and foreign governments and agencies to boost the productivity of rural farmers in remote locations. The main goal is to gradually move the current farming methods from labour intensive manual labour to low scale and affordable mechanical farming.
We have partnered with the UK Department For International Development, DFID programme Propcom Mai-Karfi to supply and train members of the Small-Scale Women Farmers Organization in Nigeria (SWOFON) to empower female farmers in rural communities of 8 selected states in Nigeria. The states are Plateau, Kebbi, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Benue, Bauchi, Kogi and Delta.
Also, we are currently working with the Nigerian National Agricultural Cooperative Organization (NACO) Limited, which is a registered cooperative of the Nigerian Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. NACO is an umbrella organization for farmers in Nigeria. Their structure comprises a National President, State Presidents and State executives and over 15,000 farmers as members in Nigeria.
We are always available to assist and work with private individuals, Government Agencies and NGO’s in improving the livelihoods of our rural farming communities.
